Hey there, adventurers!
Have you ever had a time in your life where a really good thing happens for you, but that really good thing is going to mean a lot of drastic changes that are going to impact other areas of your life? That’s where I am right now.
Yesterday, I got some really great news – I’ve been offered a new job. This job is a huge step up from the type of work I have been doing since I graduated college. What I do will be a lot more impactful, will actually make a real difference in the lives of the people it affects. I’ll be making more money as well, enabling me to better provide for my wife and son. It’s an incredible opportunity, but there’s a teeny little complication that comes with it.
I have to move.
My wife and I now have roughly a month to get our ducks in a row here, find a new house, and settle in before I start this new position. All while also finishing up with some commitments we have here now, things we’re involved in at our church and birthday parties and the like. Anytime we find a place to actually look at, it’ll take a 90 minute drive to go see the house. And having to juggle our son in the midst of all this certainly won’t make moving any easier.
The reason I say all of this is because it’s going to affect Adventure Rules. Post consistency and timing is going to be really off for the next month or so. For example, today was supposed to be Fanfic Friday. That’s obviously not what this post is. I’m gonna try and post the fanfic chapter tomorrow, and hopefully the Fire Emblem Birthright character guide on Sunday or Monday. But with everything going on in my personal and professional lives right now, I can’t keep the blog as a priority. It’s going to have to take a back seat for a bit.
Once I start my new job, I’ll be able to see how it impacts my life and my schedule and from there we’ll figure out a new normal for the site. But for now, stuff’s going to be wonky.
As always, thank you all for your patience and your support. I will do my best to still bring quality content, even when I can’t bring as much content as you may be accustomed to from Adventure Rules.
